The ICC World Cup 2023 itinerary was unveiled on Tuesday, and it drew criticism from a number of political figures who said that certain venues were preferred by the cricket board while others were overlooked. Vice President Rajiv Shukla of the Board of Control of Cricket (BCCI) replied to the accusations on Wednesday by reiterating the importance of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) approval while choosing the locations.
“For the first time, 12 venues have been chosen for . Earlier, these many venues were not chosen in previous World Cups. Out of these 12 venues, warm-up matches will be held in Trivandrum and Guwahati, remaining venues will have league matches. More centers have been accommodated," Rajiv Shukla said.
